FRC 2026-2027 calendar

We are committed to supporting children’s learning and development through developmentally-appropriate practices. Our staff provide affordable, high-quality care and education, ensuring the best possible start for children of all backgrounds living in the Branford community. We strive to provide an environment that protects each child’s health and safety, stimulates learning, and supports a child’s individual growth, while respecting their unique development. We are committed to providing a high-quality, play-based early childhood experience that enhances each child’s holistic development. Teachers work to promote positive positive self-esteem while focusing on social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We facilitate each child’s sense of agency by providing choice and offering opportunities for a variety of skill levels.

We believe that a family is the child’s first and best teacher. We recognize the importance of understanding the families that we serve. We are committed to family involvement. Accordingly, we offer various ways for families to participate in our program, without putting additional stress on busy schedules. Our goal is to work in partnership with families to understand the unique needs of each child.

Teachers observe children regularly and document progress in all areas. If a child has difficulties in any area, targeted efforts are made to support the child. This typically involves developing a collaborative plan with the child’s family. The teaching team may also consult with other qualified early childhood professionals at Indian Neck School.
