WRAP-AROUND PRE-K

About Us
Our Wrap-Around Pre-K is one of the three school-based Pre-K classrooms that we have in the district. It is composed of students from all three of the home elementary districts. Students receive instruction from a certified teacher for half of their day. The program strives to nurture the whole child in a play-based environment. Teachers foster the development of compassionate thinkers who are motivated by curiosity and a love of learning. Just like the Pre-K classes at the elementary schools, the wrap-around class follows an emergent curriculum approach. Student interest guides instruction while students simultaneously share some common experiences with their peers in other BPS Pre-K classes. Families must provide snacks for their child. There is no cost to participate in this program, and transportation is provided, also at no cost.

Wrap-Around SACC
When students are not receiving instruction from the Pre-K teacher, they participate in the SACC (school-aged child care) portion of our program. To be part of the wrap-around program, families must pay a tuition that covers the SACC portion of the students’ day. This is also a play-based learning environment, where students continue to learn valuable social skills and improve their oral language. Students enjoy lunch (provided from home) and recess during this portion of the program. Wrap-around SACC staff work closely with the classroom teacher to align thematic learning and provide differentiated learning experiences for all students in the class. If needed, families have the option of signing their child up for extended care. There is an additional fee for this portion of the program, but it offers a means of care from 7 am to 5 pm.
